      Bollocks; he qualifies for an Irish passport even in the stringent post-2006 racial identity criteria.

      That said, I wouldn’t take a knighthood unless it was roshambo rules and I got first go on the sword.

          That’s interesting. Any time I’ve seen an Irish person take one (not DDL obvs cos he’s also very English), I’ve always assumed it’s a rational choice not to piss off the cliques that would cry foul if it was turned down – the same kind of morons that were on at James McClean about the poppy – but that only makes sense if your career is dependent on their custom/acceptance.

          Luckily, I haven’t much of a career and I can barely arise out of arse today, so there’s little danger of me having to make the call.

    As long as he doesn’t go full Geldof, telling the Scots to stick with the union, saying nationalism is bad, while surrounded by union jacks, then it will be OK.
