After observing a watercolour portrait of himself (by Dublin artist, Pervaneh Matthews,. Chris Hadfield tweeted to his 1.2 million followers “I very much look forward to being back in Dublin. That portrait looks amazing – I hope to see it while there”.
Frank O’Dea of Balla Ban, the gallery housing the work, sez:
“I closed up the gallery and dropped over to Dubray Bookshop to show him the painting in real life. Unfortuantely we are currently sold out of the portrait giclee prints of him but we have more on order and will post one out to him when we get them in. However, as a big fan of astronomy myself and of Chris Hadfield, I was delighted to present him with one of my own lunar artworks which he was chuffed about”.
