It’s coz of the popularity of the CSI shows n Bones n shows like that.
I wonder what the job opportunities are like on qualification, though I’d say it’s very interesting to study.

Disagree – I think it’s a broad science of psychology, sociology and politics. Doesn’t sound Disney-like to me. Sure you’re not thinking of the Police Academy movies?

It’s a ridiculous specialisation that is unsuitable to undergraduates. Universities cynically create these courses for impressionable 18 year old to bolster admissions.

Governments recruit advisors on criminology, as does the media. It is probably popular because penal reforms, policing and war criminology is an ongoing current affairs topic. I’m fairly sure that, like any degree course, the ‘impressionables’ are weeded out in Year 1.

Jock is the male version of Helen. Try saying something positive every once in a while, you’ll feel a lot better.

Is it Helen? I thought it was Jockstrap back without his strap. Then again, he was actually funny.

    social work
    social administration
    security work
    journalism
    television and film
    community development

I’m glad someone finally said it. I forgot what site I was on for a moment and assumed the comments would mostly be congratulating this remarkable girl. Too bad it’s mostly derisive comments about her choice of degree, the least important point in this news story. No matter what she does, she’ll go far.
