Some smash. C’mon, Stephanie.
Dont forget to use all your browsers and to also vote in incognito mode/private browsing.
C’mon Stephanie.
Hopefully she’ll get the recognition she deserves despite the begrudgers including Mr Ivan “I’ll go to Wales cause I’m bankrupt but I’ll still take €74,000+ of the Irish taxpayers money each year because schure wasn’t I in pollyticks and now I’m on the radio everyone will think I’m a great fella” Yates.
Are people from Ireland allowed to vote for her? Or can you only vote for someone not of your country like Eurovision?
The difference is RVP and Rodriguez knew where the ball was going. If Roches had bombed over the cross bar it would be like a million other “go for it” shots
If me aunti had bo\\ocks she’d etc etc
As good as her strike was, Van Persie’s header is just ridiculous, and if it doesn’t win I’ll eat my hat.
The dive part of the header was surplus to requirements. He redirected a great ball from Blind with his forehead, which is right beside his eyes. Tim Cahill, on the other hand, smashed home a similar ball with his foot, which is quite far from his eyes. So I put it to you that that was the better goal and that RVP shouldn’t even be in the top three.
COYGT Stephanie!
C’mon everyone. Vote early and often.
And make that Blue shirted Spoilt Schoolboy YellowBelly Brat eat plop
Comparing goals scored in the World Cup Finals with one scored in some local league match is ludicrous.
Correct.
If she scored the same goal at the highest level of Womens football, then it would be a fair comparison.
Agreed. The stakes, the pressure, the crowd, the quality of defenders, speed of the game all need to be factored in imho.
This. Context is everything . It iswhy this is the greatest goal ever scored

And this isn’t

Both almost identical in construct but one was scored at the absolute highest level in a hugely significent match.
Roche’s goal is wonderful but it is not world class. The defending was pitiful. It is closer to training ground magic than Puskas winner.
It is a sad indictment of the Irish that they’ll lose their shit voting for this and yet allow the political machine ride them round the place. Governing us is a doddle. Put up a pol thatl has Paddy bloodying an international nose or two and we’re there; demand accountability or change at home, Paddy is in the pub giving out about his dole or other people’s dole.
We are a nations of morons.
Bollocks!
Parochialism is alive and well in 21st century Ireland.
It’s not really parochialism, Eamonn. I hope Stephanie Roche wins – not because she’s Irish (I couldn’t care less) or because it’s the best goal (is it? I don’t know… and I don’t care, either) – but because I think it’s mildly amusing to turn these wanky award ceremonies into a farce. I’d also like to see some scribbler from the Westmeath Examiner win a Pulitzer. It would amuse me.
That’s not what that means.
the only ”chips” she should be doing are the ones for her husband/boyfriends tea imo.
god made adam and eve not adam and steve etc.
But with the foreign game its all grand
It’s Monday. Time to take your meds again.

Such bandwagoning. I wonder how many people who voted watched any of the videos, let alone the one they voted for.
Sheep.
Considering the 2 other goals were scored in the most watched television event of the last 4 years, i’d say quite a few.
Run along now son.
I’d wager not.
You’d really wager that most of the 3.3million people who voted have never seen the goals. I’ll have some of that.
No. Most of the people who voted for your one just because they heard she was Irish. I’d say the majority of her votes were from people who never heard of the competition and who never intended to ever vote.
She won’t win because we can’t get enough votes to counter the opposition.
Get back to being miserable and oppressed.

Ivan Yates was right and you all know it.
:(
Hard Luck Stephanie.
