Last April, I sent out an appeal to Broadsheet readers re my attempts to track down the inspirations of awesome cult Irish film Eat The Peach (1986), Connie Kiernan and Michael Donoghue – two men who built a wall of death in their Longford back garden in the ’70s –
This was all part of research for an exhibition from artist Stephen Skrynka that was to happen in RUA RED Arts Centre in Tallaght, Dublin.
Thanks to all the awesome people that replied, that emailed, that phoned, and in the end, Connie himself seeing the article, we all managed to meet and the exhibition is now opening in two weeks on March 13 (including free screening of Eat The Peach).
This is followed by The Messham’s own wall of death arriving at RUA RED on April 10 and 11th featuring stunt riders and attempts from Stephen, Connie and Michael to actually ride the wall!
Anyway, we were in Newstalk yesterday with Pat Kenny (who originally covered the story in the 70’s). and so I thought I’d send a photo of them altogether! Thanks Broadsheet!

Eat My Peach.
Hmmmmm, I dunno, likely a hairy one that
…probably one of my favourite films and definitely the best ever title…
Great film.
That was a great movie … anybody know where I can get it? So far not on Amazon, iTunes, piratebay …
…one of the newspapers gave it away free one time…IFI in Temple Bar would have it.
It’s also on Volta – http://www.volta.ie/films/eat-the-peach
