So…what are the party’s views on abortion?

Our party has an open position on Abortion. In fact, we will be the only political party in Ireland and across Europe that has an open party position on Abortion. The reason for this is very simple, we do not believe party politics in Ireland has a place for issues of conscience.

Irish Water?

We are in favour of investment in our water infrastructure. It has been allowed to decay for generations. Access to safe, clean water is a basic necessity of life. We fundamentally disagree with how water charges have been introduced and will continue to do so until Irish Water has been radically reformed, and public waste eliminated.

Sinn Féin?

We believe in open politics. That means being open and transparent in every way. Sinn Féin fails to meet any standard of openness and transparency and on these fundamental grounds, we will not consider under any circumstance entering into a coalition agreement of any form.

    So the Keep Ireland Abortion-free Party is just Mr and Mrs Bradford and Billy “no mates, especially not in FG” Timmons. The party ard fheis can be held in a bedroom in south Dublin city, I’d like to see David Davin Power report that one!

        What “party”? It’s Mr and Mrs Bradford and a soon-to-be-defenestrated Independent TD.

        The one and only issue which moved Lucinda to oppose her party was abortion. Not economic policy, justice, foreign affairs, political reform including making matters of conscience not applicable to the party whip, policing and cuts to staffing and Garda stations, property charges, third level fees, austerity budgets which disproportionately affect the poor, industrial policy, payments to unsecured bondholders.

        No, the one and only issue which motivated Lucinda to oppose FG was abortion.

        It’s the Keep Ireland Abortion-free Party and nothing more.

          While I respect Lucinda hugely for acting in good conscience and sticking to her pro-life principles, if you asked me would I vote for her, I’d say: YES, albeit very reluctantly. The one and only reason she’d get my YES is because of her pro-life position.

      Billy “no mates” Timmins, the former FG TD in Wicklow, who was kicked out of FG after opposing the limited abortion reform a couple of years back. He’ll find it difficult to be re-elected in 2016.

        Here is the thing with wicklow, its 5 seats.
        You get at least 2 TDs from Bray/Greystones, sometimes three (currently 3, Donnelly, Anne Ferris and Harris)
        That leaves 2 or three TDs.

        One of those usually comes from Wicklow/Arklow.
        The other from west of the mountains.
        The one from the west of the mountains is Billy Timmins.
        For 4 elections on the trot, because everybody out there votes for him.

    I’m still waiting on Ms Creighton to refer to us as citizens in a society instead of repeatedly referring to us as consumers, consumers to be mined for profit by companies she’ll probably be sitting on the board of when she gets out of this politics racket.

      That seems to be a trend, a morkeshing thing – have your name and description mean nothing and you won’t be held to it. Tusla, the children’s agency is another one, a meaningless, made up word. It really doesn’t inspire confidence.

        Agree. Of all areas to be pretentious and vague in your branding, politics should not be one of them. Parties are afraid to be branded conservative, socialist, nationalist, green etc. so they duck and dive behind makey up symbols of flowers and birds flying which are more appropriate to a sanitary product.

          I didn’t say I thought that but jump away. Abortion is a pretty big issue for Ireland. You might not think it is but others do and that, and their history, is why they were asked. Whats the bet you would be complaining if they weren’t asked?

    For conscience, read ‘other people’s sex-lives’.
    Health budgeting, blind pension cuts, removal of SNA’s for kids with special needs aren’t a matter of conscience, but a pregnant woman you’ve never met? That’s personal.

    Not one single mention of abortion and their approach to that….. which is weird because it was in that issue that the party began, was it not?

    No mention of Marriage Equality in those 42 pages either….

    RENUA? What the hell? Who is advising these people? Have they no imagination? I suspect these people have no soul either. Reminds of the mindset that thought renaming “Royal Mail” to “Insignia” was a “wonderful” idea.

    Have they ever worked a day in the real world in their lives? Where is all this ego and sense of self-importance coming from?

    Website looks unprofessional and the video is broken. The supergraphic is pixelated. Pull-up banners? Very amateur.

    If these people are “the best” Ireland has to offer, I really do fear for this country.

    The only party I can vote for in good conscience is Fianna Fail. Which is most unfortunate. Tragically, the only political vision currently in Ireland is:

    i) create “the best” homosexual Utopian matriarchy in the world
    ii) get productive Germans to keep paying us (magic formula: beal bocht to Brussels + bond auctions)

    When will someone put us out of this misery? The best we can hope for is for Britain to take us back.
