They are an aggressive bunch. I was looking to put baby Andy in there but was put off by the relentless phonecalls and missed messages chasing my business.
Nice creche, mind.
I googled it… was looking for a pun hun, and got stuck with humm ! :)

Nice signage. Was admiring it myself while stuck at the lights at the bottom of the Grange Rd. Last week.

But it’s illegal, so it’s litter.

For a 1000 euro a month, per child, from your after-tax income – it’d want to be a Las Vegas Style neon flashing Giraffe, with tassled-tits
One Creche in SoCoDu close to me has the owner’s relatively new Porsche parked out front everyday, crass as a Channel 4 wedding…

Like the Bentley parked with a rail around it and bouncer in the Dicey’s beer garden.

Two great examples of Quality Irish Begrudgery alive and well in 2016. How dare those people work hard for nice things!
pedeyw
I don’t begrudge people owning nice things. Parking your fancy car in the middle of a beer garden in full and hiring a member of staff to guard is more than a little crass.

Nah you can’t use that old put down here. This is not jealousy.
It’s dismay at people with poor taste. Probably from humble beginnings and have no idea how to manage money. They think wealth has to be flaunted. They’ve no idea.

Isn’t the deal that you can pay for such signage? I think that may be the case.
pendaticduck
No, this isn’t paid for and the format is not correct. They’ve just put this up. I worked in a signage company for a while and unfortunately had to print up a few of these kinds of signs. Not for this company though.
Maire
Thanks for the close up. The official signpost to Pearse’s museum is misspelled in Irish. While they’re taking down the commercial signage, the council could maybe correct the Irish version.
As this is not a tourist attraction, would seem to be cut and dried case of the county removing illegal signage.
Of course, maybe they made an application to the right person, who judged it fairly as a significant tourist attraction requiring an official road sign, and further of such importance that it had to deviate from the standard white on brown, plain text style. If so, the county should have record of such, including whom approved it and on what merit.

There’s no way these are legal. See for example the county-wide removal of “Johnny Foxes” signs. That’s why loads of road signs have “GLENCULLEN” put on them illegally. Johnny Foxes’ advertising always mentions Glencullen.

Them Giralles are always sporting erections. It’s a disgrace.

Probably some rugby connection somewhere along the line here. That’s how you bypass laws in Ireland. Have a chat with your rugger mate in the council/court/garda/dpp
Drogg
Wasn’t that one of the creches under investigation after the RTE special where they where neglecting kids?
Liam Deliverance
@Drogg – It was and they have been at this illegal signage crap for a few years now, at various locations around the city so they know exactly what they are doing. It displays a distinct lack of morals which is disturbing considering they also want to mind your children. You would also think that they should be well able to fund a publicity campaign without resorting to criminality. I wonder are they fiddling their taxes aswell, they seem keen on pinching every cent that they can. Apparently there is 5 illegal signs at this location all mounted on SDCC signposts.

at least ya know who to sue when ya hit ur head off one mounted too low over a footpath or cycle path. go forth and clock thy head of those illegal signs of low mounting

Giraffes humm, most annoying when they humm down the phone !
Heh. I was running through animal noises the other day and was stumped by giraffes.

It’s a nice museum. It’s a great area, really.
