A new video from Fáilte Ireland to support the Irish Kennel Club in their bid to win the World Dog Show 2021.

B Bop writes:

The cheek of it all, Ireland is not dog-friendly or welcoming enough… the odd pub, a few hotels and one official restaurant “Pupp”…strict rulings for responsible dog owners, dog wardens, horrific puppy farms, ridiculous leniency for puppy farmers, despicable animal cruelty rife, animal charities crying out for funds… They’ll want to improve this dog-friendly “live life off the leash” ironic attitude to merit this jolly little inclusive jaunt...

FIGHT!

Dogs aren’t people. Go to England. That’s the county you need if you want equal rights for pets.

    We have a normal attitude.

Indeed. If there’s one thing we don’t need, it’s off the leash dogs everywhere with their attendant stink.

…Dear Irish Kennel Club…there is a reason why the dog show at the RDS was so popular…clue: nothing to do with dogs

…the dog show at the RDS is one of the few places you could get a drink on good friday…made famous by Brendan Behan who tripped over a dog and spilt two pints…his retort was ‘who let that f**king dog in’.

There’s pox all places in the country that welcome dogs… So what’s the point?

Couple of years back, booked into a dog-friendly hotel in KIllarney – Dunloe Castle… Sure, they said… bring your dog…. in reality, the dog was allowed in the room, but could not enter any part of the public areas of the hotel… In and our through a service door in the back somewhere….

So, if you’re gonna do pet friendly, do it right…. People want to travel with their pets…. they don;t want to kennel them…. they will spend good money too…

Ireland is not at all pet friendly so trying to get this dog show here is a joke…..

How scandalous. Everyone should get to smell damp dog while having their evening meal. And I always say a breakfast isn’t really ready until someone’s dog has half eaten all the sausages.

AIrBnB have loads of dog friendly places. That’s where I take the family, dog included, when travelling around.

I find pubs with our door areas are sound enough about dogs once you keep them near and they don’t make noise or get in the way, likes kids I suppose.

Was a portly, red-faced butcher shaking his fist at the dog, Beano-style, as it snaffled the bangers?

For an agricultural country everyone has got fierce precious… damp dog ? I bring my mutts ( jack and a German Shepherd ) everywhere here ( France) bank, post office , work, metro, pub and resto. They are clean, quiet and I pick up so we are all properly trained. Frankly I see more offensive humans .
