The thomas house is Thomas street, not merchant quay.
Looks like when Dublin City Council found a hugely important archaeological site and despite many protests still built their horrible head office on top of it and to appease the masses put some slabs down with ‘artifacts’ stuck in them.
Maybe this was a similar find?
