    my mother used to say scone like gone until her parents in law looked at her as if their son married beneath him, now she talks like a proper person. she was from Roscommon though

    I’m Scottish and it’s taken me 15 years of living here to finally feel OK with pronouncing it like a cone. If my friends at home heard me saying it like that though they’d beat me around the head. So grateful for the map!!

      I love Scotland a lot but there’s two things you don’t do well; food without batter and brown sauce, and pronouncing things correctly.
