It’s this kind of parish pump politics that gets that corrupt dirtbag Lowry elected time and again.

I’d rather see Catherine Murphy passing bills that have true merit and value to the state, as opposed to the utter nonsense that currently goes on in government.

damned if you do; damned if you don’t. We love giving out about parish pump politics and how the Healy Raes of this world do nothing on a national level but just get voted in because they fix potholes and stand up for the much-maligned drink driver.
This lady is a good ‘un

  2. Specific Gravity

Parliament is not a congress of ambassadors from different and hostile interests; which interests each must maintain, as an agent and advocate, against other agents and advocates; but parliament is a deliberative assembly of one nation, with one interest, that of the whole; where, not local purposes, not local prejudices ought to guide, but the general good, resulting from the general reason of the whole.

You choose a member indeed; but when you have chosen him, he is not a member of Bristol, but he is a member of parliament.

    Burke.

I can’t imagine Kenny coming out with that type of eloquent statement, or even that sentiment.
