I do not intend to demean it, but all I could think of was Dionne Warwick and Do You Know The Way To San Jose, and in particular its use in an ad for a beverage I would love to be sharing with friends in, as in inside, a particular establishment.
Specifically the last lines of that ad: ‘San Jose? Sure that’s in the middle of nowhere!’
Not saying Portmarnock is, but for me something about lighthouses always evokes images of being in the middle of nowhere, bastions of safety against the terrors of the deeps and the vagaries of the shore. Taken from the right angle, as this shot is so beautifully, some of the Martello Towers have a similar aura.
And just for fun, here is Dionne to hopefully bring a sultry smooth lead in to your lunches:
