Doesn’t mention wether there were any deaths, Micko.
Micko
Of course there was deaths.
What’s your point?
Tom J
You have a link to a video about the Amish community, how they had their own way of dealing with it. But no mention of the death toll they had.
Micko
Why would that matter?
Are you thinking that they are all dead?
I’d imagine their death toll is between 0.1 and 0.3%
Same as most places.
Tom J
Put up a link to most places so.
Thomas thanks engine
Yes put up some facts Micko or be used as a plaything
Micko
Aaaah
BS won’t let me reply with the link I wanted.
Anyway, it was just a link to worldometer
But let’s do the sums on a single country – the UK
What percent is 144K of 63 million?
Tom J
How many of them are Amish.

Motivated to post for the first time in over a year by the contrast between the quality (and budget grrr my taxes going to … etc. etc.) of Broadsheet.ie vs. the website of the national broadcaster.
Thank goodness for a news site that gives the Toy Show the appropriate level of attention — little more than a flicker.
RTE have (count ’em) 18 separate Toy Show stories on their front page; is there no end to their willingness to **** their own **** and call it news?
Don’t get me started on their inability to spell, conjugate verbs, edit, or even write reports that convey basic information clearly.
Does anyone value RTE cultural content? Style advice? Tattle about Z-listers or US news a week old?
Anyway bravo Broadsheet, you perform a limited function well, without state funding, sinking or swimming according to your success in the marketplace.
Whew

Having watched it, I was wondering if any of those many news articles mentioned how sharp, dismissive and downright nasty and impatient the host was with many of the children contributors?
Thomas thanks engine
Gratefully I wasn’t watching it
Tom J
In over a year, were you self isolating.

Anyone else just exasperated by it all , the constant covid from tv coverage to shop doors. The complete lack of consistency and stability in society while watching all freedoms that were hard won in western society disappear. Is this really better than having let it run its course. At the moment it just looks like Gov. covering their bum bums and others justifying their jobs.
Ahhhhh
A landmark study has recently been published on the effects of masks and other social distancing measures imposed on children. The results are alarming:
‘The report found that there was a 23 per cent drop in scores measuring kids’ intelligence quotients since the start of the pandemic.
The study also found similar dips in the same span in regards to developing children’s ability to communicate, both verbally and though subtle facial cues ‘
Neither
I do not consider Forbes a reputable source either
Have you peer reviews?

Yes I think that is what Sucharit Bhakdi is referencing, and he said that legal action will be taken.

Another big ‘Kill The Bill’ protest across Australia today. If it is passed, the whole thing is likely to turn nasty. What the implications for the elections are, remains to be seen.
Interesting that the main media is actually giving it a bit more balanced coverage these days but then again, with a million or so on the streets, it would be hard for them to ignore.
A man called Kevin Quinn, who’s suffering from terminal cancer, gave a very moving and powerful speech at it. I’m sure there must be a recording of it somewhere online. If anybody knows of a link, let me know!
