The Taoiseach has said that booster vaccinations against COVID-19 may be needed for people to gain access to the hospitality sector.

When asked if people looking to enter the hospitality sector such as pubs or restaurants will require their boosters, Mr Martin said: ‘In the fullness of time, yes I think well, shorter than that. I think the HSE are now working on including the booster within the vaccination record and cert’.

not heard of negative interest rates then, tom?
banks don’t want your cash, they want you in debt and paying it back by EFT.

      2. Robert Warren

Nah they don’t care either way, as long as they can charge you €6 per month for the privilege of having a bank account.
Even if you have a zero balance in your current account, and no over draft facility, they will take €6 per month from your account leaving you overdrawn. It was at that point I realised that I could operate perfectly fine with Revolut over the BoI account, and closed it.

But your 100K is safer in the BOI which operates the DGS than Revolut which doesn’t.
For six snots a month it’s worth it.
You’d be wise to also open up an N26 bank account as well – deposits up to 100k covered under the Compensation Scheme of German Private Banks and with a German IBAN it’s ideal for offshore funds you don’t want to bring into Ireland.
Of course the best mainstream bank for the dodgy stuff is HSBC but then everybody knows that don’t they ?
          Whoops a daisy !

It’s interesting that up until relatively recently the narrative being sold was that, because of expected future variants, supply deals with Pfizer were being entered into to cover mass vaccination of the population for 2022 & 2023 with boosters that would have updated formulations specifically tailored towards the latest variants.

    From May 2021:

Irish government spokesman: “Scientific advice indicates that variants will continue to evolve over the coming months and that vaccine immunity is not indefinite. Therefore, it is likely that repeated boosters with updated vaccine formulations will be needed for a very high proportion of the population.”

    https://www.breakingnews.ie/covid-vaccine/ireland-will-receive-4-8-million-vaccines-in-2022-and-2023-under-eu-deal-1121925.html

But all that seems to have quietly gone out the window and, even though the Omicron variant is said to be “markedly resistant” to current vaccines, the authorities are frantically pushing booster shots with the same old formulation upon the masses. A formulation tailored to strain that’s more than two years old and no longer in circulation. Where are the Irish journalists to ask some probing questions as to the disconnect here?

I’ve read speculation from some experts that it may be to do with the phenomenon “Original Antigenic Sin”. There’s been a realisation that even if these mRNA vaccines are tweaked, the body is still likely to produce the same antibodies as it did the first time round.

The technocratic vision has come off the rails but they’re going to brazenly plough through any way. So much of the public seems to be effectively hypnotised and apparently accept without question whichever way the narrative is spun . The latest variant is much milder that earlier ones but that can be spun as “the boosters are working”. Just scan your vax pass and don’t give it a second thought!

‘Member when endless-boosters and vax-pass-forever were a ridiculous conspiracy theory?

      Good times.

When your starting point is ‘the pandemic is fake’ everything that comes after is a ridiculous conspiracy theory.

Ah, here’s Nige, one of the crowd who thought vaccine passes and restrictions were all going in the autumn as promised by our duplicitous and deviant politicians and health officials. Not only have they not gone away, their use is being slowly but surely expanded across society. Nigel is consistently wrong yet acts with disdain towards those who are consistently correct and goes around a ting like he’s the one getting it right every time. Clearly from the Karl Rove “we create our own reality” school of the unthinking.

It was never a technocratic vision – it was a commercial vision. Everyone one knows the old adage: there’s no such thing as the cure for the common cold. Pharma knew there were problems with the tech, but had the means and the motive to overcome those by other means.

      Deals with Pfizer until 2023.

And sure there you have it. No need for conspiracies about Digital ID’s or New World Order etc.

We’ve simply entered into deals them and they need to use them.

Vaccines- the new voting machines. Coming to a warehouse near you soon.

Wait… can’t have that again. Better keep the vax passes.

Given the growing number of Covid Church heretics in Ireland and the ex communist east European cheap labour here whom are willing to take their chances- what does “59.32% of its fully vaccinated population” actually mean?

    Cian?

    1. Cian

I’m going on a limb here and based on @IrelandVaccine numbers (https://twitter.com/IrelandVaccine/status/1479053648818810885)

      Fully vaccinated
      ▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓▓░░░ 77.19%
      Booster dose
      ▓▓▓▓▓▓░░░░░░░ 45.79%

You can’t get the booster until you have been fully vaccinated (1 Jaensen or 2 others), so what % of the fully vaccinated have been boosted?

45.79/ 77.19 have the booster. Or 59.32% of the people that are fully vaccinated have also received the boosted.

      1. E'Matty

I think your interpretation is correct though it’s simply yet another example of the manner in which NPHET, the HSE and government have framed statistics to support their narrative. Why not simply say what % of the total or adult population is? Always inflate the figures for those complying so they seem like the crowd. Herd types are terrified of standing out from the crowd so naturally gravitate towards whatever group they perceive to be the safety and shelter of the herd majority. It’s hard wired into them. Minimising the target group, here the unvaccinated, is to portray them as a tiny fringe lunatic minority. The herd types wouldn’t date be seen with such a fringe minority. Social embarrassment is one of their greatest fears and strongest motivators in life. Truth be told, the true number of unvaccinated in the country is somewhat higher than the 7% of over 18s we’ve been told. The stats are manipulated to induce a psychological response in the public mind.
