hey Galax I have noticed your love of languages, how many have you studied ? Yours a nosy late to the game language lover :)

    1. GiggidyGoo

It was only €2000 wrong though, in the Ambassadors eyes anyway, seemingly.
Maybe Nigel, Daisy & Co. will fill us in on how serious it was, and why the Ambassador shouldn’t be recalled and relieved of his current post. Surely he’s a Nazi, a conspiraloon, a Swastika waver, who endangered the lives of others. Coveney too? Woo Hoo

        1. Me So Harney

          Lololololololols

Not as pathetic as your showing yesterday.

          Obviously still feeling the burn.

        2. GiggidyGoo

Funny you obsess about the time of posts here. How about obsessing about yours – it must be an excellent employer that allows you to come into work and start posting your rubbish at 09:11 hrs, or at various ‘during work’ hours throughout the day. Unless, of course, you’re a little biddy Walter Mitty person with nothing to do during the day.

So – tell us Doxxy. Are your state-employed colleagues Anit-vaxxers, conspiraloons, Nazis, Swastika-flyers or the other multitude of terms you have hidden up your drawers?

          1. GiggidyGoo

            Lying more like.

‘So – tell us Doxxy. Are your state-employed colleagues Anit-vaxxers, conspiraloons, Nazis, Swastika-flyers or the other multitude of terms you have hidden up your drawers?’

          2. U N M U T U A L

Cursed Image Award of the Day goes to Giggidygoo…

“or the other multitude of terms you have hidden up your drawers?”

Now if you’ll all excuse me…
I’m off to wash my mind’s eye out with soap and water!

          3. Doxxy Chainsaw

Poor angry GooGoo and their flying monkeys, why the interest in my colleagues? Are you going to attempt to doxx them as part of your obsession with me?

          4. GiggidyGoo

I’m more interested in your opinion of them, seen as you’re spewing out labels good-oh about people here.

So – tell us Doxxy. Will you be referring to your state-employed colleagues as Anit-vaxxers, conspiraloons, Nazis, Swastika-flyers or the other multitude of terms you have hidden up your drawers?

Plus, I didn’t doxx you. In fact, judging by the frequency and times of your posts, you didn’t even doxx yourself. You’re no more a Dept. Agricultural employee than I am. A liar in other words.

          5. Doxxy Chainsaw

Go back to polishing your antivaxx jackboots, Goo. Your attempts at investigating are overwhelming you.

          6. GiggidyGoo

You’re a bit rattled there Daisy. Give us a bar of ‘Nobody’s Child’ seeing as you can’t bring yourself to label champagne charlie or his maternity leavers and babby.

          7. Doxxy Chainsaw

Come back with another comment at 6am tomorrow. You’re overtired and making even less sense than usual.

          8. GiggidyGoo

Empty vessels make the most sound, and you’re rattling so much now that the noise must be deafening for anyone around you.
Run away now like a good girl. You’re the newest busted flush in the BS Busted Flush Hall of Fame.

The number of sick patients waiting on trolleys for a bed in Irish hospitals this month was 132% higher than in January 2021.
INMO’s monthly Trolley Watch reports widespread and chronic overcrowding in hospitals with some experiencing levels never seen before.
These are deteriorating third-world health conditions right under the noses of Ireland’s media and they give the politicians a free pass to concentrate on cake.
Their cheeks should be flushed with embarrassment when they remove them from the backside of Simon Coveney who, according to the Examiner, has just had a very good week.
You couldn’t make it up – except they did.

    https://www.irishexaminer.com/opinion/commentanalysis/arid-40797300.html

    1. George

I never knew the minister for foreign affairs was in charge of the hospitals but there you have it.

Trolley waits in UK hospitals hit record highs in December but I’m sure that was just another big win for Boris.

      1. TenPin Terry

Do you think Ireland’s health service will get better by comparing it with the UK’s ?
Or do you think Irish politicians should be properly held to account for the shameful scenes in every hospital in Ireland tonight ?
Because it won’t and they won’t.
That’s why they get away with it year in year out because bovinely-stupid people like you let them by mooing ” Boris ” while you chew the cud.

          1. Cú Chulainn

Hey Charger, I know the ward orderlies confiscate your phone around midnight, but while you’re here. Have you given any thought to expanding your audience reach. You really should be sharing your obvious wit and charm with a more appreciative (and much larger) audience.. let me know what you’re thinking.. thanks, Cú

  2. scottser

I do hope box office boris lasts for another few days at least, it would be lovely to see him slung out on the 50th anniversary of our burning the tan embassy down.
Still, the longer he’s there the more obvious the failure of tan democracy is becoming.
The tory party – the gift that keeps giving.
    Deadly.
    Hehe hehe heh

    1. E'Matty

Ha, my old man took part in that embassy burning. Fond memories of it he has. He said the gardai just let them at it, such was the rage over the killings up north.

      1. alickdouglas

I worked with a guy who told me he was one of the guards on that day. At a certain point (he maintained) the guards had a chat among themselves, and decided they’d done enough. He knocked on the door and said something along the lines of ‘you’ve got an hour’. Not certain he enjoyed it as such, but he always told the story with a smile and a twinkle in his eye.

        1. goldenbrown

my mam lord rest her had a yarn very similar in nature around the lead up to bombing of Nelson’s Pillar on O’Connell St.

have a lump of granite in my attic pile that she kept from the blast

      1. Cú Chulainn

In all fairness to the lads – if it was the bewildered they were after, I reckon they’ve cornered the market.. fair dues

        1. E'Matty

They’ve done a magnificent job, being the sole media outlet (maybe Gript too) to not have fallen into the mindless government propaganda line. The others all took funding from the State to push the government line and abandoned any journalistic principles of integrity and honesty. Broadsheet were have been sole beacon of democratic freedom and the pursuit of truth. Of course, this will be mocked and sneered at by the mindless low IQ herd types like yourselves. Good man Bodger.

          1. TenPin Terry

The abuse towards anyone who questions the conventional narrative in Ireland is desperate to behold.
It’s the outcome of a nation that has adopted subservience and a herd mentality as their national characteristics.
Broadsheet should be applauded not derided on here for its vaccine stance even though I disagree with it.
Likewise Gript which gives a voice to those whom the media and their chums in government wish to silence.
Ireland has no meaningful political Opposition and the lack of any independent and questioning fourth estate allows third-rate politicians in government to flourish.
Blighty has an army of hacks tearing shreds out of a government even though it has delivered the fastest vaccine and end to COVID restrictions in Europe.
            Ireland has Claire Byrne …

          2. The Millie Obnoxious™

I do think you make some interesting (and valid) points, but you really do whinge about Ireland an awful lot.

More than my dear Nana, who would count ‘giving out’ as her favourite hobby.

          3. bisted

…was it for this…Broadsheet and Gript mentioned in same breath…and by two of Broadsheets finest minds…we are not worthy…

          4. TenPin Terry

Millie – I whinge a lot about Ireland because I have no need to be patriotic.
But I pay my taxes here – quite a lot of them – and I expect value for money and accountability from those to whom I entrust my hard-earned moolah.
Has anything changed that much since Bertie told those who were giving out to go and kill themselves ?

          5. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

only yesterday he was telling me how much he loved the place…well at least the pubs

          6. ANO

To be fair, while it can feel like BS has never met a conspiracy theory that it didn’t fall for it’s far more socially liberal than Gript.

          7. V aka Frilly Keane

            feck Bisto

like, I’ll put my hands up, and yeah, I posted some mad stuff here
            over and under the line
although that Alan Rickman tribute remains my favourite column – well favourite one to write anyway
and of course, I stand over every word I posted here as my own

            but never,
            never
thought Broadsheet would eventually morph into Gript – ok Gript with better headers
            and hair.
Or even resemble it enough to be measured and compared to it

And by Gript I mean anything at all that ties McGuirk, Ganley, Ascough, the Burtke Klan, Scallon, Gilroy and that Iona Quimm together.

For a while there I considered the hosting and platforming of the usual frontline Alt Right Intolerables and QAnonspirisists,
to the hard right like National Party Ultras, and Anti Corruptionists,
plus all the other cosplaying faux speechers and playtriots as a form of public service
In fairness, it was good to know what they were all at from the one host
and I got the Limerick of the day and papers while i was here

It was never about what was above the line
Broadsheet for me was the comment sections, below the line is where the action was
And since that is now occupied with the thick the delusional, the doxxers and multiple login owners holding the majority
none of them remotely capable of being funny but given too much space to post stuff Broadsheet know are untruths

            well then I suppose
            Anything at all could happen

Here’s something ye should treat yourselves to
when older columns get linked under new posts, like there under the Related Posts sub
See if there’s anything pre Summer 2018, go in and see all the genuine original Broadsheet commenteers
and compare with what is in front of ye today

BTW ye might discover some interesting data there with the avatars. Who they’re posting as today n’ stuff like that.

But go back, and read some proper original Broadsheet commenters.
If you’re lucky you might even pick up some of SOQs gay porno links

          8. TenPin Terry

By socially liberal I presume you mean John McGuirk’s views on abortion ?
Gript and Broadsheet have much more in common than that, mainly a willingness to air unpopular views.
Plurarility of thought is essential to a properly functioning democracy.

          9. TenPin Terry

V – to be fair you spotted the critical importance of cake to the national debate years before anyone else :)
Mrs TenPin ambushed me with a homemade tea brack last week and it took all my powers of cunning and distraction to ensure our dog Self-Control got it instead of me.
            It was dreadful.

          10. ANO

That’d be a good example, yes, TenPin.

I think you could chart a drift in the editorial direction of this site from maybe starting with their full throated support for Gemma O’Doherty’s presidential run (before she went full crazy, tbf) to where they are now, which is…well it keeps me amused but I’d still agree with you that the more voices out there, the better.

          11. V aka Frilly Keane

            Charage
That’s not the sting you think it is

I’m not a bit afraid of who I am
            or what I’ve posted here
            above
            and below
            the line

unlike most of the activity driving the gaff today
            such as your own
            for instance

    1. TheWhiteWolf

It’d be grand if it were not for those involved in the constant and obscene levels of poo smearing one another.

If that what I wanted to see, I’d go to pornhub.

        1. GiggidyGoo

Terrible to have to say this, but I’ve tested the system today and late yesterday to see would words like piss get through. It’s a word used regularly by Mad (of the 100 usernames). A bit of moderation wouldn’t go astray, especially on comments like the reference to necrophilia directed to a posters parent yesterday which was bang out of order.

So if it continues down this road, it’ll be a free-for-all.

          1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

I had thought that the moderation was more lax lately and while I used to get annoyed at the whipsy woos and lady gardens I now appreciate how the helped raise the tone,
it feels like you are driving slow past an accident when it’s vulgar.
I’m doing a no reply to the usual winder uppers, would you consider it yourself ?

          2. GiggidyGoo

That actually sounds like a Fr. D..k Byrne question to Fr. Ted. :-)

But yes, it’s a good idea, though I do like putting some of them back in their box.

      1. SOQ

IMO there is some people who just take pleasure in hurting others- even online. Smearing and sneering is part of their characters it appears, but also censorship of those they disagree with.

In a way, the Spotify Rogan thing really sums it up. A bunch of once free spirts who have now turned gamekeepers. It is no coincidence that this controversy arose after he interviewed Robert Malone and Peter McCullough- two people who are highlighting the corruption and criminality of what has happened.

        1. Janet, dreams of an alternate universe

you are probably right, some people are just born nasty and it’s how they get their kicks,
if you ignore them the jibes get more desperate, reaching and pathetic to try real you in again so it shows it really is the best way to handle them imo.

    1. GiggidyGoo

Reminds me of that old Conservative Party joke. Boris – can you make a U-turn? No- but I can make her eyes water.

  3. TenPin Terry

Don’t worry lads we’ve got your backs.
While Ireland relies on a langerload of Cork fisherman for their military intelligence the boys in the Royal Air Force have real planes in the sky monitoring the Russian fleet on exercises.
Operating in the Irish Exclusive Economic Zone the RAF P-8 Poseidon aircraft, as well as conducting surveillance exercises and dropping sonar buoys, are capable of deploying torpedoes and other anti-ship weapons.
Ireland is only capable of deploying Seamen Staines as Coveney is refererred to by the Russians when they’re not laughing their heads off.

I see you’ve got your phone back Charger. You are the entertainments world loss. Why have an audience of a couple of hundred on here when you could have millions. Time to spread your wings grasshopper. Reach for the stars.

  4. TenPin Terry

    It’s a jungle out there …
Several performers and crew members of The Lion King musical have been subjected to racial abuse on their way home from a show in Dublin.
The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, where the show has been staged since late December, condemned the “vile” incident and said that it has been reported to gardaí.

Wow, british(england’s, london singapore-on-thames westminister corrupt tory scum elite) politics has really gone passed the excrement floating in and around the toilet paradigm to… straight down the sewer…and somewhere beyond?…
    – Broadsheet.. Is it not time enough to evolve a little and start a daily page/topic dedicated to real journalism instead of all this british agenda-propaganda trash…??? smh.?.

Meanwhile, another once seriously regarded and important institution known as journalism is being propped up while on it’s last dying breath, mostly by random comedians..
As shown by this example and also in previous musings on this and various other subjects,,,

It’s not a conspiracy that different interests share the same objectives.. and this extends beyond even the US treasury or media outlets intending to ‘shape’ market awareness. Where it comes to the so called dip… the term is used to encourage a belief in something which is by no means guaranteed. It’s only a dip if when you look back to the relevant period you witness also a subsequent rise. If enough investors buy the so called dip then this rise will likely occur but it still only perpetuates a broken model and largely supplements the relative losses of prior investors, ensuring the exact systemic dangers which precipitate down onto the rest of us..
