Sean O’Rourke
This morning.
Further to the dismissal of the Golfgate case…
“I followed the trial closely and the outcome is a relief not just to the defendants but to everyone who attended on the assurance that it complied with the rules.
“The aftermath was traumatic for me but many thousands of people suffered far more than I did from the pandemic.
“I lost a good contract to resume the work I love. That had a big effect on me and my family.
“I would like to go back on air. I have good relations with many people in RTÉ and I am hopeful that a way will be found for me to work again with RTÉ on radio and television.”
Broadcaster Sean O’Rourke, whose RTE ciontract was not renewed following his attendance at the Golfgate event.
Sean O’Rourke wants to return to broadcasting with RTÉ after ‘Golfgate’ (Irish Times)

Yes, put him back on the air.
…sorry donkey…you were found guilty in the court of of public opinion…
orourke has retired. hes no entitlement to RTE money

for inflicting such suffering on you and your family ,you should sue rte ,./i can see that suffering written all over your face .
And OJ should have went back into movies after being acquitted
Suffering
Didn’t ya ever hear the likes
Looking to get back to work now that the missus has retired
And the young felah is sorted
What a shower of hungry ….. starts with C
not celebreties, I’m guessing?
Apart from the covid restrictions I think a presenter like Sean O’ Rourke showed poor judgement and compromised his impartiality by hob-nobbing with politicians.
If RTE take him back he should be restricted to covering golf events in the west of Ireland or hotels in Clifden.
Jesus, he’s retired, can they find some new (and cheaper) talent instead of bringing back people as overpaid contractors after retiring as overpaid permanent staff? There’s a reason why no-one under 30 (or maybe 40?) watches RTE.
I watch the radio all the time ! I’m looking forward to watching O’Rourke again.
Surely there’s nothing preventing him from getting back to work. He could develop a podcast like Eamon Dunphy or set up a Patreon account, where those anxious to hear his ‘insights’ could pay him directly.
It just has to be the RTÉ trough though.
++++1
As a new hero of the anti lockdown movement, he could be grand marshall of the Covidiot Convoy tomorrow.
Since when does a judge adjudicate on legality?
Is their job not to decide if a person in front of them is guilty or innocent?l not overrule the dpp?
This is a total whitewash.
