1. The Batman is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Batman. Produced by DC Films, it’s dark, very dark!
2. It is a reboot of the Batman film franchise. The film was directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay with Peter Craig. It stars Robert Pattinson (him from Twilight) as Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Jeffrey Wright, John Turturro, Peter Sarsgaard, Andy Serkis and…Colin Farrell!
4. Set in his second year of fighting crime, the film sees Batman uncover corruption in Gotham City while pursuing the Riddler (Dano), a serial killer who targets Gotham’s elite.
5. Development began after Ben Affleck was cast as Batman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) in 2013. Affleck signed on to direct, produce, co-write, and star in The Batman, but had reservations about the project and dropped out.
7. The film is intended to launch a Batman shared universe, with two sequels planned and two spin-off television series in development for HBO Max.

They played a 3 hour edit of the film to test audiences late last year and the responses were similar to that of a horror film. Cinematic fear has definitely been missing from other Batman films, hopefully this one keeps that effect.

It’s very late ’90s, I just can’t believe this was signed off on for such a massive film!
Looking forward to catching this on the big screen!
Hard to see Pattinson doing another franchise trilogy but he looks great in the trailers so won’t grumble if he signs up.
Christ on a bike…. point blank range with a 9mm and you shoot everywhere except where he’s exposed….
