      Except there are US funded biolabs in Ukraine. Now, obviously the Western “Fact Checkers” who always support Anglo American and globalist corporatist narratives say these are purely benign. They would, wouldn’t they? Facebook were forced to concede in a recent court case that their fact checkers are not in fact (tedum tish!) checking facts. They are merely “expressing opinions” (journalist John Stossel case).

      Now, these confirmed biolabs (Vicky “F the EU” Nuland) are admitted to be “researching diseases”. We have yet to be told what these diseases are and why the US Department of Defense was funding the research of them. Oh, purely to protect against those diseases, we’ll be told, but how do we know this is true? The exact same research is similarly capable of providing offensive capabilities. All weapons can be claimed to be defensive yet can also serve as offensive weapons.

      Obviously, the idiot brigade immediately believe whatever the State Department and Politifact (I mean, its got like “fact” in it’s name, so…) say, because those lads never lie. Wise heads say, we’ll await further disclosures before making up our minds. Neither side is trustworthy so to take at face value either side, without reasonable objectively verifiable evidence is a fools game. By labelling it a conspiracy theory Feargainm, you most clearly, and unsurprisingly it must be said, place yourself very much in that Club of Fools.

      P.S. looks like a peace deal pretty much exactly like that put forward on this site by myself and others at the beginning of this conflict (i.e. a neutral Ukraine not in NATO) may be on the cards. The witless warmongering NATO cheerleaders on here who sought to fan the flames of war with mindless calls for more weapons, more aggression, no fly zones, the further endangering of global security and so on, are now left with their willies in their hand waving their Tipperary flags at the St Patrick’s Day parade. The use of supposition and insinuation in the absence of proof is overwhelming. I’m prepared to believe the very worst about the US military and defence Department and their private contractors, but it’s also an obvious breeding ground for conspiracy theories and, in this case, Russian pro-war propaganda. I would suppose finding ways to deal with leftover or potential Russian bioweapons is a Defence concern, as is the potential of natural disease outbreaks. If they’d found evidence of actual bioweapons research at those labs, we’d have seen it by now.

          No, Nigel, not invading would’ve meant US nuclear missiles in Ukraine, which would’ve meant Russian nuclear missiles aimed at Ukraine. It would’ve also meant NATO war games being played on Russia’s doorstep, which would’ve forced the Russians into a military buildup on their border.
          With the invasion, Russia avoided that escalation. At a heavy cost, they’ve managed to, hopefully, extract a permanent settlement that doesn’t carry the risk of nuclear war. Events off the battlefield have taken a very interesting turn, however, with Russia, China, India, Brazil, S. Africa, S. Arabia, etc taking the first steps to usher in a multipolar international order, the single biggest change in geo-politics since the collapse of the USSR.
          Keen as I am to keep abreast of developments in this area, the lack of a functioning mass media meant this all took me by surprise, The West has become a backward-looking, badly-run backwater, of little interest to & often deservedly despised by the rest of the world. It will probably be some time before the dust settles on this but we’re no longer in pole position, that’s for sure.
          There’s a New World Order emerging but not the one envisaged by the megalomaniac, authoritarian dullards who run The West.

Less than five years later, a SARs-like bat coronavirus sweeps the globe, originating, by pure coincidence obviously, from Wuhan. Wuhan is a well known super popular vacation spot for bats. We’ll ignore the fact no actual evidence of animal origin has ever been identified for SARS-COV2, but that’s just a minor discrepancy.

            Then, there is the separate issue of US backed Ukrainian biolabs which you laugh off. Can you perhaps tell us why such labs would be operating under the control of the US Department of Defense and what kind of disease research this might have been, in your informed opinion? Herpes perhaps? Is it that you don’t believe the US actively develops exceptionally dangerous viruses and diseases, which can be turned into biological weapons?             So the reseasch into bats showed that it was possible for a coronavirus to develop into something that could infect humans, then a coronavirus developed into something that could infect humans. The research, shockingly, was done in proxiimty to the source. I’m not ruling out the possibility of a lab leak, but so far there’s no evidence that it happened.

            Here’s an example of some of the statements/behaviours/actions etc which, taken together, are reason enough to me why I shouldn’t take US claims at face value that nothing untoward is going on in Ukraine’s biolabs.

            1) Victoria Nuland was asked a recent Senate hearing “does Ukraine have chemical or biological weapons?”
            Rather than an emphatic “No”, she says: “Ukraine has biological research facilities”, is worried that Russia might get their hands on the “research” and the danger of a biological attack if they do.

            2) For the last two decades, the US has ensured that the UN’s Biological Weapons Convention has remained toothless by resisting calls from a majority of leading nations (including Russia and China) to allow for the implementation a protocol whereby nations could be systematically monitored for compliance with the international ban on bioweapons development.

            The rationale the US has given for resisting has been that there’s no point in even trying as biowarfare is just too easily disguised as biodefence – in other words, the processes can be indistinguishable.

In other words manufacturing bioweapons in the the name of “biodefence”.

      I did take a Yale course on The Middle Ages & it did confirm what I’d been told of the exploits of the Irish in Christianising Europe, indeed at one stage Europe was divided between those practicing Irish Christianity & the Roman version. However, as this meant neighbouring towns throughout Europe were often to be found celebrating Easter & other religious feasts at different times of the year, it all eventually became unified.
      This is the kind of stuff I like, the gibberish in your post, which I’m assuming you didn’t write, actually made me slightly queasy.

            In fact, the biggest religious event in The Middle Ages was the Rise of Islam, Janet, it came bursting out of Arabia, not as a religion but as an empire, during that time. Conquering the Eastern Roman Empire & The Persian Empire was it’s first major impact on history.
            I never conflated Irishness with Christianity, though it’s an important part of our identity. I’d be inclined to assume you probably have an irrational hatred or at least distaste for both, anyway, so you probably brought that to the table yourself. A wee bigotry you allow yourself, because it makes you feel “European” or something similarly “modern”?
