What you may need to know.
1. The trailer for Irish horror flick The Cellar, starring 24‘s Elisha Cuthbert and The Night Shift’s Eoin Macken, has ‘dropped’ ahead of the film’s arrival in cinemas next week.
2. The Cellar was filmed in Roscommon by National Film School graduate Brendan Muldowney, whose credits include Pilgrimage (2017).
3. Billed as “the darkest” of nightmares”, The Cellar tells the story of Keira Woods, a mother who must confront an ‘ancient force’ when her daughter disappears in the family’s new home.
4. The cast also includes plenty of Irish talent, including Dylan Fitzmaurice Brady, Abby Fitz, Aaron Monaghan, Andrew Bennett, Tara Lee, Michael-David McKernan and Seán Doyle.
Andy’s Verdict: New underpants!
Cinema release: Friday, March 25.

I love a good ‘Ancient Evil’ so I do.
Review here, but it also includes the original short, which I vividly remember seeing in the cinema even though I’ve long forgotten whatever the main feature was.

Looks like a watchable but not overly surprising horror flick. The Irish angle tips it into ”I’ll give it a watch”.
horror movies are supposed to be formulaic.
True but some really take the genre and go nuts with it, Hereditary and Midsommar being some recent standouts.
But as said, I’d give it a watch, very hard to tell how good a horror might be based on a trailer but it could really surprise.
yeah it looks good all the same – hope it does well.
Poor Kim Bauer just can’t catch a break!
