Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said her country’s decision on whether to apply for membership of NATO would be made within “weeks, not within months.”
“We need to have a view on the future and we are using this time to analyze and also build common views on the future when it comes to security,” Marin said. “I won’t give any kind of timetable when we will make our decisions, but I think it will happen quite fast. Within weeks, not within months.”

Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson told the news conference that “the security landscape has completely changed” after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and “given this situation we have to really think through what is best for Sweden and our security and our peace in this new situation.”
“This is a very important time in history. There is a before and after 24th of February,” Andersson said, referring to the date Russia’s invasion began. “We have to have a process in Sweden to think this through.”

you’d only have to hear Peskov’s threats once to know to do the opposite of what he says. I see a pile of pulled fingernails with his name on it in a Kremlin basement.
Putin’s masterplan isn’t really working out too well is it? He has single handedly resulted in the biggest increase in support for NATO across Europe in 50 years, and will now have multiple new countries on his doorstep joining it due to his actions.
On day 49 of their 3 day special military operation Russia will have managed to more than double their land border exposure to NATO to 1,340km – but clearly there is some crafty element of this genius 5D game of geo-strategic chess being played out by Russia that we’re all blind to.

Russia invanding Finland would result in a thermonuclear war, because that would be the only way for Russians to stop the Finnish army steamrolling over Russia all the way to the land of their ancestors.

I reckon as soon as Mariupol falls and he achieves a buffer zone he will retreat but the cost to Russia is beyond acceptable for the Russian people
