Independent Presidential candidate, Seán Gallagher has expressed his regret that the the other candidates would not agree to a joint ‘Litir Um Thoghcán’ or a shared envelope for delivery.
“I tried repeatedly to get the other candidates to agree to a share a leaflet which would save the Exchequer €10.6 million as An Post are reimbursed for the delivery of the leaflets.” “When agreement couldn’t be reached, I suggested that all candidates could share an envelope. The other candidates were not forthcoming and went ahead with their own individual deliveries.”
“It is a matter of deep regret and disappointment to me that agreement could not be reached and I had to deliver my leaflet through An Post as a single delivery.”
“As an Independent candidate who does not have the national organisation that the political parties have I need to ensure that my message gets out to the voters.”
