Pogo (aka übersampler Nick Bertke) sez:

This is the video for my track ‘Bloom’, a patchwork of vocals and musical chords from various Disney films. I recorded the harp sample from ‘Sleeping Beauty’, and a series of chords from ‘A.I: Artificial Intelligence’ to form the base of the chorus. The vocals are sampled from Disney films, each of which are illustrated in this video.

Jo’Burg Jam: a montage of sights and sounds collected in and around Johannesburg by master remixer Nick Bertke, otherwise known as Pogo.

It’s part of his World Remix project to create a fan-funded album. Sez he:

The goal of my project is to travel the world capturing sights, sounds, voices and chords, and use them to compose and shoot a track and video for each major culture of the world. It will be funded solely by you the listener, and will be released worldwide on CD, DVD, and on my website PogoMix.net.

Seems fair enough.

Pogo (Nick Bertke), an electro-music artist from Perth, samples sounds and images from classic Disney movies (and elsewhere) to form mesmeric new tracks.

Kids love ’em, but this is charming stuff no matter what age you are.

If you liked ‘Wishery’ (above), his latest, you’ll love ‘Alice’ (below), his best known work.
