The flooding, which has been ongoing since the last week of April, is expected to reach its peak in Vicksburg tomorrow.

Around 100 guests enjoyed Spanish tapas in the restaurant on Grand Canal Square owned by Rita Crosbie, wife of developer Harry Crosbie.

Broadcaster Joe Duffy said: “It was absolutely magnificent, Gay Byrne as a host was so suave, he made it look so easy. At one stage he joked that people not get up and dance in the aisles especially her majesty.”

Easy on the tapas there, big fella.
