“I took these pictures [yesterday] after the Garden of Remembrance ceremony at Islandbridge. I had just met the gentleman in the photo, whose name is Joachim Nolan, known as “Joe”. He is 86 years of age and a decorated WWII RAF veteran. He was invited to the ceremony with his daughter. I thought it was time he received recognition of all that he had done, fighting in France and Germany, and surviving those grim experiences. Maybe you’ll post up his picture just to say “Cheers Joachim”.

Last Wednesday at Christie’s (New York), the above photograph – Cindy Sherman’s “Untitled #96” (1981) – sold for $3.89 million to New York dealer, Philippe Segalot.

“Untitled #153” (1985), also by Cindy Sherman, went for $2.7m 6 months ago. To the same dealer.
