Apparently the entertainment venue was considered “inappropriate”

Replica White House is grand, though.

And there’s a chapel.

Lowry is Batista pre-1959 Cuba. Fact.

Dave, played by actor Mat Fraser in Fair City.

He arrived on the soap during a vicious assault on a blonde woman in the park and he’s now a regular having found out his real mum lives in Carrigstown.

The question troubling Bodger since Dave joined the cast is this: is he being put in positions that even longer-armed actors would find a bit of a stretch? Carrying groceries and a paper while grappling with dialogue and a door, answering the phone, chasing muggers, etc. etc. Are they rather clumsily trying to suggest that we would think he was incapable of said tasks because of his limb deficiency and are thus inspired by his noble phone answering, etc.? Is this not pretty condescending to Matt and us? What are the scriptwriters up to?

“More to the point: What next?” Asks Bodger.

“He’ll be pulling pints in McCoy’s soon,” replies Ewok, a recent convert from Emmerdale, with some confidence.

Thanks Doug

Well, at least you didn’t spend three years at Rathmines school of journalism to wake up on this fine June morning and have to write about the opening of Ireland’s newest motorway service area, admirable though that venture most certainly is for local employment and driver convenience.

Thanks Eoin
