A group of fast food outlets have won their High Court challenge to the JLC system of setting wages for lower paid workers. The case was taken by John Grace Fried Chicken of Cork and the Quick Service Food Alliance, which represent a group of fast food outlets.
The restaurants argued that the JLC system is unconstitutional, unfair and breached their property rights. However, the State had defended the JLCs as reasonable in protecting the rights of low paid workers.
