In Plain Sight, a report by Amnesty International which studied the Ferns, Murphy, Ryan and Cloyne reports was released this morning.
Colm O’Gorman, Amnesty CEO, told Today Fm:
“173,000 children passed through the institutions. 30,000 individual complaints were made to the Commission to Inquire into Child Abuse, the Ryan Commission. 14,500 applications were made to the Residential Institutions Redress Board. 12 files were forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions for consideration for prosecution. And all but 3 were rejected.”.
