In another twist, Buncrana TD Padraig MacLochlainn has called on Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan to probe an alleged conflict of interest involving a member of An Bord Pleanála.
The Community for a Clean Estuary group says it believed there was a ‘conflict of interest’ in the decision, which overruled an inspector’s recommended refusal of permission for the scheme. It noted An Bord Pleanála member Conall Boland, formerly technical director of RPS Consultants [and the engineering firm behind the sewerage scheme], was a signatory to the approval.

Do Or Die Tonight For Moville Campaign (Caomhinn Barr, Inishowen Independent)
Belgian photographer Anton Kusters spent two years with one of Japan’s most notorious and brutal Yakuza gangs, gaining their trust and capturing a series of incredible photos for his first book.
The (no doubt moderately pricy) limited edition of 500 soft cover tomes, printed on Japanese paper is sold out (many were presented to the yakuza featured in the photographs in order to open doors for a future film project by Kusters) but there’s a great gallery here.

Taken literally at midday at the Gibson Hotel in the Point Village at the launch of The Voice, a new talent show fronted by Kathryn Thomas (who beat Grainne Seoige to the job), where the singers are blind not seen by the judges and chosen on vocal talent alone.
