A Limerick photographer is continuing his mission to track down a young boy he photographed in the city some 40 years ago, as the image will be used on the front cover of his forthcoming book.
Gerry Andrews, whose exhibition ‘Shaped by History – Limerick in the 1970s’ – continues to run in the Hunt Museum, has identified virtually all the people he photographed decades ago in this iconic display. However, the identity of the young boy still eludes him.
“A lot of people have said to me there’s a look of sadness in his eyes, but I like to think that it’s a look of hope. Life was all ahead of him and I’d love to know what happened him. His eyes would just capture your heart.”
