President of Ógra Fianna Fáil Kate Feeney and members of Ógra Fianna Fáil delivering an enormous copy of a letter to Michael Noonan the Departments of Finance and Public Expenditure in protest at cuts in Jobseekers’ Allowance for those under 26.
The letter is also signed by the youth wing of the Green Party.
This is how it starts.
Kate Feeney says:
“It is disappointing that some of the other youth political parties have refused to stand with young people on this issue. Young Fine Gael failed to respond to our request for support, while Labour Youth informed us that they would not be supporting our efforts. They talk of their commitment to young people, yet when it comes to taking action they remain silent.
“Sinn Féin Republican Youth had indicated to me that they would support our efforts. However their representative failed to show up at the Departments of Finance and Public Expenditure to sign the letter and present it to Department officials.
