Poolbeg, Ringsend, Dublin.
The DIRTY industrial bit ‘they’ don’t want YOU to see.

Knock ’em down, etc.

Finally an excuse to post my photos of the chimneys http://goo.gl/CyPfhM
great photo!
Sweet photo.
Our cities waste water treatma to plant and a large metal scrap yard are there to, but there is also a nature reserve with wonderful views back across towards Dublin and out over Howth
Absolute balls. Have a look at pics of TCD in the 1980s before all the smog stains were cleaned off.
Ye’s could also have given some time to the fact the emergency motion by DSE council was passed last night BS.

They’re the same gobdaw councillors who prevent building upwards in Dublin, right?
I REALLY HATE that stupid, backwards insistence that ‘Dublin is a low-rise city’, etc.
UGH.
/vent.
Also the Central Back. I remember when that facade was as black as coal.
This story is just a smoke screen. Nothing more.
Our industrial heritage? They are 50 years old. They are the same age as a lot of 1960’s ugly buildings. Tear them down. Let people see the rolling hills across the bay.
When I fly into Dublin, I might see something more interesting to tell me that I am home.
Buildings 50 years old are part of our heritage too. Many of those 60s buildings are beautiful too.
Anyway, if you knock down everything potentially worthwhile after 50 years, nothing will make it to 100, 200, 300 years etc.
I’d say Owen Keegan will give permission to knock down the bottom half only.
