I’m putting together / running an event for comic book creators in a few weeks called ComicJam48 Dublin.

The goal is to establish an great event that can be replicated by other organisers in other communities around the world. Similar to the StartupWeekend.org movement that has been growing in the tech community over the last 4 years.

The idea for ComicJam48 came, like a lot of great ideas, out of a conversation over a few pints. We though it would be cool if there was a weekend event where people who love creating comics can get together in a really great location, Generator Hostel in Smithfield on the 6th & 7th of September, where we will feed and water attendees to keep them at their creative best, plus there will be limited edition T-shirts and a printed copy of the Anthology of all the projects created at the event for each attendee. All this from €35 (Early-Bird) per person.

We are hoping for a good mix of experience and inexperience at this event. While we’re planning on having mentors on the day to offer advice and make sure everything runs smoothly, the real goal of this event is collaboration and for people to teach and learn from each other, to share ideas and ask questions.
