Yikes.
Note Adam Clayton negotiating a ten spot as fee for the gig next Saturday. Mind you, not a dandelion in sight.
I can remember parking in there with my folks.
The nostalgia is choking me
that may have been the smog
So did I. But only once – they would not let you park yourself, and you had to leave the keys with them. Stuff went missing, but no comeback. As I had left the keys with them, Gardai said nothing they could do, and insurance would not touch it.
After that, I much preferred to tip the cappie.
Lock-hards. Where are they now?
Playing rhythm guitar in Aslan and squaring up to Linda Martin.
Many a Budgie we bought in there!
There’s mines under Stephen’s Green?
So there’s hope yet for all those empty sites across the city centre.
we should all save this photo and produce it next time anyone starts whining on about ‘the good old days’ and how things were much better then. Jaysus.
Reminds me of the billboard sign used be at the start of the quays after the Croppy Acre: Think signs ruin the view? View the Ruins! with a picture of what the signs were hiding. Dreary indeed.
We were poor, but that didn’t stop us being miserable.
It didn’t always look like that. The Dandelion market was on that site, along with the Green cinema and Rice’s pub.
Wow. That photo is depressing as foook.
Handy parking location though
Especially if you wanted to do a bit of shopping in the Stephen’s Green Shopping Centre…..
I was just looking at a picture of the old South King St. buildings here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dublin-Then-And-Now/125602310976727?fref=nf
Such a pity they didn’t try to keep the old facades.
