        Have a look at what happens the once extensive railway network in the border counties, The natural flow of the trade and hence railways gravitated to Belfast and Derry, after partition, it all went downhill and by the mid 60’s aligned with a very pro road lobby in stormont it was all gone cross border except for the Dublin – Belfast mainline,
