The O’Shaughnessy family, from Kilnamanagh, Dublin, writes:

I know you may be sick of these videos by now, but while Motor Neurone Disease is in the spotlight, we’d really like to milk it for all it’s worth. In May, our Mam was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease. It’s a cruel illness that has devastating consequences.

This is our sexy #IceBucketChallange to help raise awareness. This is a cause and charity close to our family’s heart as we’ve experienced the care and wonderful work that the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association provides every day.

To donate €2 to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association, text MND to 50300, or donate online here.

Excellently executed. Very sexy. The black and white gives it that 1940s glamour also. Well done guys!

    Wonderful. .
Well done the O’Shaughnessys and I’ll be thinking of you as you go through the next few years.
Lost a parent to that awful disease 20 years ago. Still no real progress in curing/treating it since then, so any shout-out for funding is welcome.

It’s called humour ABM, humour in the face of something difficult for an entire family to face. Makes it easier to cope, makes it easier to share, makes it easier to support each other and so on. I particularly enjoyed Gran giving the finger.
But history of you would suggest that coping, sharing and supporting are not usually the type of thing you are interested in, so it’s easy to see why you don’t understand.

So, to keep with what you do understand, you’d be better off asking the retired Cardinal Brady why he protected the priests who made sexualised play things out of innocent children, don’t you think.

Ha @clampers . I was about to get in my high horse and give out to you for calling her gran but she is a grandmother . However she is in her early 60s and a very cool grandmother who is fighting mnd as much as she can .

Go wan the O’Shaughnessy’s. The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association need all the funding they can get, they receive next to nothing from the government.
