      €4,700 for a ticket to the men’s final. €1360 for the women’s.
€1,389 for 3 nights in London even with that VIP frippery is pretty expensive. The flights would cost eff all.

I spent far too long looking that up. POINDEXTER.

Wha’? The package is €7,449 pp. That’s €1380 (approx.) on top of both finals, as I pointed out.

Oh, maybe I see the problem… the ticket prices on that site you linked are for 2 tickets, not one.

wimbeldon one of the best sports events to do but not this way jasus….yes you can pay thru the nose for pre-booked tickets via a travel agent as above or you’re balloted BUT unusually wltc operate/implement a proper old fashioned queue each day for tickets, very very well organised/impressive setup and means you don’t have to be connected to get in, fair access for all, some Irish sporting bodies could learn a trick from them

    – cheap flight over + bring tent
    – camp overnight in the queue from about 6pm previous evening normally good enough to get you no.2 court level offer (the park across the road all set up for this with food stalls etc. nice atmosphere)
    – that following morning from about 06.30 the stewards start walking the line and offer you the tickets as you’re packing up your tent…they have a locker system so you can leave your tent with them
    – simply the further you are up the queue the better the choice of ticket you get….if you camp the previous evening you can’t miss really unless it’s semis/finals days
    – tickets are AT FACE VALUE ….about STG£70
    – tons to see and do once you’re inside, well worth doing once if for nothing else than to physically see inside this hallowed gaff you watch every year on the telly…in that regard a lot of things click into place once you attend in the flesh
