Anyone who followed the local elections this year would have been glued to their set by the coverage in the northwest by Ocean FM, they pulled out all the stops and I was still listening Sunday night, over the net, back in Dublin. Excellent broadcasting, by a local media outlet.

It’s been the same old faces and the same old voices on RTE Radio One for decades now. The only change happens when someone dies or retires.
The conversation never seems to be ‘Should John Creedon/Tubbs still have a show”, but ‘Where can we put John Creedon/Tubbs this time’.

I listen to a lot more radio now I’m older, though mostly through podcasts.
This American Life is an excellent download if anyone’s interested: it’s via a public radio station in Chicago and they do an hour documentary each week on a theme. Almost uniformly excellent listening. http://www.thisamericanlife.org/about
