That picture of Clarkson is gas. So sinister looking.

SIde note RIP Healy Rae. Character if anything.

You can’t argue with that line about JHR.
‘He fought tooth and nail for the people he loved.’

    Yes, he certainly did.
-And he did a great job.

    I’ll leave it at that.

      -Actually, I won’t…

Please, don’t take my word for it…
Just look at the ‘love’ that shines from his face, for you, for me, for everyone.

There aren’t many like him, but there are still a tiny few.
      That’s consoling, isn’t it?

With his native wit and sharp intellect he re-defined Parish Pump Politics for the Celtic Tiger era. Surely.

If he loved those people, he would’ve done his job as a national legislator & policy-maker instead of papering over the cracks by diverting a mildly disproportionate amount of govt cash to his constituency.

The bullish!y plaudits he has been receiving suggest that we have learned little.

        Please, don’t be so ridiculous.
JHR was a giant among men. The IT obviously went to press too early.

        There’s no other explanation.

First of all, thank you Broadsheet for disabling comments on the announcement of JHR’s sad death.
It was so brave of you to do that, and much-appreciated by his many admirers.

    Now, where was I?..
    -Oh yes.

I passed through Kerry about 40-odd years ago, when JHR was only shtartin’ out, so to to schpeak.
He had the place looking lovely, and I just want to give the man all the credit he’s due.

    I’m done now.

I thought the same thing. No comments allowed, hilarious when you think of the brave stand taken on other issues like stolen bikes but an Irish politician dies and all commentary is stopped! Go on ya lunatic reactionary leftyish goys!

    1. Dissident Citizen Frilly!

      Ah would ya give over.

T’was the classy thing to do

      RIP JHR
Condolences to his nearest and dearest

Everyone knew exactly how the comments would go. No point in going through the inevitable unpleasantness.

It was at Mani’s request that comments were shut down. Just to give credit where it’s due.

That unpleasantness can serve a greater good.

I don’t really understand why you can say the nastiest, least-informed thing about living politicians but when they die we feel the need to pretend they deserve to be on a pedestal.

Aussies will be able to tell Macca’s from Supermac’s.
It is a shame that McDonald’s is so successful in Oz.

Only in Ireland would a popstar (albeit, a shortlived, ex-popstar) join a right-wing political party
