Does the closure of MH pave the way for INM to turn De Hedald into a free sheet, along the lines of the London Evening Standard?
Just a thought…
I’d say after the failure of having two freesheets (Metro and Hedild AM), having this one freesheet (Metro Hedild), there’s zero chance of them going with the formula again.
Luas’s will be the cleaner for it.
It’s sad news for sure! More good journalists and staff out of work.
Don’t know about the “journalists”.
the blanket coverage of one nut in Australia contrasts sharply with the omerta on the hundreds of bombing raids by U.S. etc on Syria and Iraq..
It does indeed. And I rather suspect that one of the main reasons for lack of coverage, would be the fondness of certain factions, in the areas you mention, for beheading journalists with rusty bread knives.
Just a thought ……
those maniacs. i mean jesus… why the hell would you use a rusty bread knife? their poor choice in head removing knives alone is enough reason to spend the world debt x 10 to catch them and bring them to “Justice”
Also the one nut in Australia was an unusual event. The bombing of Iraq and Syria are practically daily events so naturally there’ll be more attention and public interest in the Sydney story.
The joker explained it perfectly in the Dark Knight. Seriously.
“Nobody panics when things go according to plan. Even if the plan is horrifying. If tomorrow I tell the press that like a gang banger, will get shot, or a truckload of soldiers will be blown up, nobody panics, because it’s all, part of the plan. But when I say that one, little old mayor will die, well then everyone loses their minds! “
You mean the bombing of ISIS targets in those countries? Well there aren’t many camera crews standing around filming those, because ISIS tend to kidnap them and behead them.
Well actually there was a huge amount of filming of the bombing of the town of Ayn al Arab from across the Turkish border.
its hard to quantify but you’d think the ongoing bombing by NATO countries of Syria/Iraq would lead the news in UK/USA/France etc but I find it often goes unmentioned.. maybe to paraphrase the Joker bombing the middle East is normal…
Why has every single newspaper run with exactly the same photograph?
Also, re; Metro Herald – I’m just going to print off a few pages from the previous day’s Journal / Daily Edge & a few pictures from last week’s Reddit and staple them together.
