Irish-Water

Irish Water says it has registered around 760,500 households to date, representing 56.3% of the estimated number liable for water charges. The body says somewhere in the region of 975,000 application packs have been returned so far.

Wait for it…

It said this figure included packs sent back blank or with messages of opposition to the charges, as these were treated as verification of an address and registered to their system as a result.

Over half of Irish Water customers registered (RTÉ)

Well they needed a million to see it through. A bit short but better than they probably expected when 150k hit the streets.

The general consensus was that if the Government could convince a million people to sign up then that would get the pressure off them and allow them to push ahead.

arent they just gonna reach this apparent quota anyway when there is propaganda out there telling people loads more have paid?

Disconnected as a customer and then reconnected as a citizen, right?

Considering IW is funded more from general taxation than charges, since charges are purely an accounting trick.

        Disconnect me a**e.

Better off completely ignoring all communications from Finelabour’s shameful, wasteful, incompetent and bullying quango.

Have already paid twice, not paying again.

What, so the whole ‘NO CONTRACT NO CONSENT!!!11!!1!!!1!’ thing didn’t work?

It’s a game of spin by those boys and girls at IW (Incompetent Wasters).

How many more lies will they fail to sell us?

  5. Soundings

Give IW their dues, at they’ve established the most popular surnames in the country are Duck and Mouse.

I’ve registered my house with them, then again, I did so because they can’t charge me, in any event.
Am I included in the 3/4 million figure – I wonder?
Then again when Irish Gravy can call a bonus a salary enhancement – I don’t wonder that much.

No, they’d treat it as verification of address and you’d still get charged. Whatever you do, they’ll make sure you’ll pay.

  7. Propernow

treated as actively verifying when they in fact send them back? so what this is being done to reach some form of quota, contrary to those who are clearly UNWILLING and will NOT pay? fits Ireland in fairness
