Don’t panic, it’s a standard periodic drill that the crew must perform in order to maintain proficiency in case of a real reason to do so.

Ships deploy lifeboats all the time for all sorts of reasons. It could be the crew using it as a tender or they’re doing a drill.
This isn’t unusual.
