Whats so bad about it? Odd colour clash but i think it’ll stand out.

Yep it’s an odd colour combo but that’s more to do with looking at it onscreen. With the paper stock they print on there’s a fair amount of substrate absorption so colour intensity should be reduced by about 15% or so.

I haven’t bought the Guardian in ages. The white on lime background does seem illegible though, perhaps it’s just a poor screenshot.
