Broadsheet Trailer Park: Big Game

at

Big-Game

What you may need to know:

1. When Air Force One is shot down over Finland (wait, doesn’t Air Force One have anti-missile defence systems?), the US President (Samuel L. Jackson) jettisons in an escape pod (wait… oh, forget it). As he is hunted down by terrorists, his only ally is 13-year old bow-carrying tyke Oskari (Onni Tommila).

2. More planes; no snakes.

3. In terms of “will work for cash,” Samuel L. Jackson is giving Michael Caine’s 1980s  a run for its money. But Jim Broadbent really should know better.

4. Big Game is the second feature from director Jalmari Helander, and is the most expensive movie ever produced in Finland. Having said that, the €8.5 million budget probably wouldn’t cover craft services on Pirates of the Caribbean.

5. It may look as dumb as a bag of hammers, but Big Game is a nostalgic throwback to the 1980s kid-friendly action movie, and has been getting some pretty decent reviews.

6. Broadsheet Prognosis: A guilty pleasure. Very, very guilty.

Release Date: May 8

Had to go one better than Indy’s fridge and use a freezer, didn’t ye?

(and no, he’s not hunting in Finland with that bow. It’s nowhere near big enough :P )

I’m not sure if you’re trolling or not. At a guess, I’d say he’s Sami, from northern Finland. You must be fun when you come up to the big schmoke & see all the furriners.

  2. The bringer of facts

Isn’t it always flanked by U.S. Air Force fighter yokes?

And it also has plenty of Anti missile defenses… Those lovely flares and I’m guessing by now cool drones that can deploy and shoot fricckkkin lasers and ting.
