One in six adults on anxiety pills? Take a look at the mark ups that drug companies make on these medicines and the kickbacks to doctors. That might explain the figures.

    I’m not judging anybody except maybe the GPs who dole these out like smarties. Of course some people need and benefit from them but one in six? I don’t think so.

      Where exactly do you imagine you are, at a NCHD conference? GTFO yourself. I’m allowed to be sceptical about the news that approx 16% of the population requires anxiety meds.

depression anxiety is the final taboo. The ignorance of the articles headline pillpopping. I have been on different anti d’s for 16 years now. personally i think one of the problems so many of us get depressed is the weather and secondly the way the country is run. In my trade its who you know not what you know Gets you ahead. throw in booze and our ridiculous paddy catholic approach to sex and Yes you have a Great opening for drugs companies. my anti depressants cost me 11 euro per month. They are genèric.
