come on mick – professional boxers say that kind of awful stuff all the time before a bout. it’s all part of the publicity. I accept that those remarks don’t paint Tyson in a flattering light but obvious hyperbole is obvious. And I’m not for one moment claiming Tyson is innocent of rape Don – I said he served his time. I suppose folks like you who have probably achieved nothing in life – certainly never been world boxing champion several times – well it must make you feel great to point at someone like Tyson and say – oh well there’s goes the convicted rapist. Tyson is a role model to millions, his personal transgressions aside – he’s a truly great man who, considering the obstacles his background and upbringing represented, achieved incredible feats in his lifetime. IMHO it’s scurrilous -( and it’s not ‘implied’ – it was clearly quite deliberate of you and Mani) – to seek to impugn his character by reducing analysis of his feats to a puerile one-liner.
