Last week I was approached by Irish Ad agency The Social House to see if I could create an illustration for [DJ and music blogger] Nialler9’s celebration of Record Store day, this Saturday .
They wanted to celebrate the love of music in Dublin, and how integral it is to the city.We ended up creating this image, ‘Dublin is Sound’, showing the famous landmark that is the Poolbeg towers and the Sandymount strand.

This is really great. So nice.
Will it be printed?
Fair play Donough, nice work, I like too :)
I enjoy an old pop at the poolbeg fancying that goes on here but that’s very good.
That is gorgeous.
I think that’s really really great! Nice work.
That’s really clever, and really well executed.
That is brilliant Donough. Excellent work.
Tshirt & coffee cup versions, please. And maybe some limited edition dioramas if you have time. (Too much?)
Very nice!
Brilliant, would love a print of that
Hi everyone, thanks for the comments on the illustration! I’m hoping to have prints available next week if anyone is interested in getting one.
I’d definitely be interested in having one!
As would I – thanks Donough
I’d buy one, great work
I don’t think you appreciate the enormity of what you have achieved here in this comment section
It’s genuinely astonishing!
yeah I’d want one. Well done.
Jaysus that’s beautiful. for those of us after one if you could post the details of where we could get a print that would be great (post international?) cheers
+1
I’d like to stock up on a few for gifts. It’s a thing of beauty :)
Excellent. Best I have seen on here.
Would love it framed and on the wall.
Please make prints available to buy.
Very nice
Bravo !
Kewl!
Take me money!!!
Really good.
Wow thanks for the great response folks! I’m hoping to have prints available next week once I’ve spoken to everyone involved. If you like, check in with me on twitter, @pencilrobot where I’ll have news, or check my online print shop next week, https://pencilrobot.bigcartel.com. Thanks again!
Love it.
It’s crap. Badly executed. Derivative. Hipsterish. Stupid idea. Probably only getting publicity because the artist has relatives in RTE.
(Sorry, had to balance all of the above praise as Broadsheet’s comments section cannot handle that amount of positivity. It’s a fantastic design, well done)
Hi folks, thanks a lot for all the great comments, and the last one to balance it out! If you do want a print well now you have the chance to win one!
