What you may need to know.
1. Okay, so a new Woody Allen movie is a hit and miss proposition these days; we’d make a case for recent works like Vicky Christina Barcelona (2008), Midnight In Paris (2011) and Blue Jasmine (2013)
2. This one stars Joaquin Phoenix, on a roll since he returned in The Master (2012). The most interesting actor in American cinema right now? We think so.
3. That said, we wish somebody would finally release The Immigrant (2013) round these parts.
4. Also: Parker Posey. Always a pleasure.
5. 50 years ago, Woody earned a crust doing this.
6. Prognosis: It’s okay, Woody movies always have terrible trailers.
Release Date: Summer

2001?
It’s aged well.
He’s great in the Big Bang Theory
This irrational man hates the ‘so’ phenomenon.
“Okay, so a new Woody Allen movie….”
Does my head in.
There’s a whiff of Jimmy Savile off of him. Why is it still OK to watch his movies? Strange.
Yeah. No thanks.
Has anyone read the open letter his daughter wrote about him sexually abusing her.
Also didn’t he marry his adopted daughter?
Nope. She wasn’t his adopted daughter. She was Andre Previn and Mia Farrow’s adopted daughter. He never married Mia Farrow.
That’s not to say that the relationship was anything other than deeply creepy. Though they’ve been together for ages now: since at least 1996: I saw him in concert that year playing with his ragtime band (surprisingly good) and she was in the audience watching him.
Yeah. I’ve given her the benefit of the doubt and haven’t watched one of his films since.
That’s Emma Stone, not Parker Posey
Parker Posey is also in the film.
Broadsheet is badly written and they should’ve captioned the first picture too.
