Cork Harbour.

This September.

Siobhan Howe writes:

‘Wave Movements’ – a new composition by Bryce Dessner (The National) and Richard Reed Parry (Arcade Fire) – will be the focal point of Sounds from a Safe Harbour. It will be performed at Cork Opera House by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra and accompanied with film by the celebrated Japanese photographer Hiroshi Sugimoto.

This festival centrepiece was the nucleus of the idea that has evolved into Sounds from a Safe Harbour. Cork Opera House will also present a performance by The Gloaming, as well as a collaboration between Lisa Hannigan and Aaron Dessner….

Tickets on sale from next Thursday.

So is it Cork Harbour or Cork Opera House where Lisa Hannigan will be annoying?

She will be playing in a curragh, made of fairy wings and children’s dreams, floating down the Lee, singing her own makey up language of ‘Fiddle-dee’.

          How does one do that?
Write a delightfully droll song on a children’s keyboard and stuff my gut into a pair of jeans two sizes too small for me?
