After The Leaving

A young Irish filmmaker.

A hell of a year.

Adam O’Dwyer writes:

This video represents my comeback to YouTube/filmmaking but also my making it through a very tough year. I’ve had to stop doing the one thing I love most in life, filmmaking. The leaving cert completely took over my life. I wasn’t able to produce any video content whatsoever for the last few months.
The dark tunnel of trees in this video shows how sixth year consumed me for months. Now that sixth year and my Leaving Cert are over I can begin again. I’m a filmmaker again at the end of this video because I have escaped that dark tunnel….

Fair enough.

He’s very young and I wish him well but he might want to think about “leaving” the woe is me attitude to one side. Also, puns!

“The dark tunnel of trees in this video shows how sixth year consumed me for months.”

I feel like that sometimes when I’ve series linked Q.I. on Dave.

      Interesting fact about brazil nuts:
People who are allergic to Brazil nuts have a unique problem: it’s the only allergic reaction known to be sexually transmissible.
In other words, if a man who has eaten brazil nuts were to inseminate a person with a nut allergy, it could cause an allergic reaction in said person.

    Well I loved it.
Tend to get consumed by my projects and I can relate to the dark tunnel.
Good luck t’ya Adam now that you are free to work with all of that shelved creativity ;)

Adam strikes me as the sort of fella who is going to struggle with the first 15 or so producers he meets. Also, a Freudian analysis of this piece suggests to me the sky is a giant c**t. No pun intended.

I can only imagine the dark place you’ve emerged from. I know none of us can truly understand. Stay strong, my friend, there but for the grace of God go us all…

If he thought the leaving was bad, what will he be like when he has to do his Driving Test?

Adam has arrived, you’ve seen it here first folks..

Gutsy stuff indeed but the confidence to express yourself and the belief that your voice matters and needs to be heard is probably the most important aspect of a true artist and dare I say it, a true auteur…

Learn all you can about still photography and find the greatest story before you photograph it.

& spare a big “fupp you” to the begrudger’s along the way,,,

Definitely the nicest and most analytical comment on this article. Kindness isn’t something I’m accustomed to reading on Broadsheet so fair play to you Joe. Good message too.
