If you done that on a building site, you’d be sacked. And not for wearing heehighlers.

      Bizarre!
Doesn’t like like a contract cleaner, so an actual employee taken upon herself to clean the window??

little enough surprises me from the govt, either the elected or the “permanent” one. – if that isn’t a disciplinary matter, i don’t know what is.

quite apart for the danger posed to people on the street, the danger to self in that activity immense. Jaw-dropping stupid doesn’t even start to cover it.

Looks like that photo was taken from the Department of Agriculture – one department ratting on another, eh?!

    1. feedmeandtellmeIlookpretty

It was taken in Agriculture House, but from the positioning I can tell you that it was in a part of the building occupied by another organisation, which will remain nameless, because we only grass were for in Ag is in a field.

This is standard procedure now in Enda’s Austerity Paradise – the country can’t afford namby pamby safety equipment, or cleaners for that matter.

This woman has shown great initiative in getting on with the job herself, and she’s a fine example to all you left-wing pinko liberal types.

    What’s that you say?

Reckless behaviour and cavalier attitude? Sure that never got this great little nation into trouble, did it?

    Oh…

    1. scottser

nah, she’s only new in the job so enda sent her off looking for a left handed screwdriver/keys to the car park/long stand etc.

Beautiful buildings, new and old with no window cleaning in the maintenance budget ??? What is that about ?? God given light kept out behind manky glass is not right clean your windows Ireland or risk your women falling off the buildings
If you need the name of a good contractor give me a shout !!!

Actually – it should be the law to have your building looking clean, painted and tidy. The amount of kips just left lying around…

I’d be fairly sure the windows in government buildings have a hinge to allow them swing inward to be cleaned. Quite common in old buildings.

    Very odd indeed.

      1. Owen

Sash windows are designed to do so. There is a reson this photos is shocking – nobody else does this.

This thread is about sash windows. If you wish to talk about inward swinging windows, please go to the thread dedicated for that.

inward opening windows are not common in old buildings stop making stuff up – older public buildings with sash windows typically have fall-arrest anchor points to allow trained personnel clean the windows from the outside safely, the anchors would be checked and certified regularly

Yep, they are. I live in a flat with the same wondows, and mine are spotless. Google ‘simplex hinge’.

            Gwaaaan Linda ya legend!!

  7. JunkFace

Fuppin Hell! Maybe it was a perfectly square bit of dirt on the window? Like the one in Father Ted, made her look like Hitler, so she had to get rid of it
